Lollapalooza Announces Lineup

Vana White has turned over all the letter tiles over at Lollapalooza's site, revealing the full list of bands for this year's festival. The weekend-long event, August 6th - 8th, will again be held in Grant Park, and features a fantastic, diverse line-up that offers something for everyone.

Head over to the official site for the full list, but the headliners are Soundgarden, Green Day, Lady GaGa, Arcade Fire, The Strokes, and Phoenix. Arcade Fire gets our vote here as the one you skip any of the others for. In terms of the non-evening sets, we think you should check the, yet unreleased, schedule and pray that the following bands are not playing against each other (in the order listed on the site - trust us, we'd have Company Of Thieves and Frightened Rabbit listed one-two):

MGMT
The Black Keys
Spoon
Grizzly Bear
Wolfmother
MUTEMATH
Metric
Frightened Rabbit
Stars
The Cribs
Minus The Bear
Rogue Wave
The Antlers
The Soft Pack
Company Of Thieves
Miniature Tigers
The Morning Benders
Royal Bangs

Lollapalooza Gets Wordy

This year, Lollapalooza organizers are having a bit of fun revealing the full artist line-up. Rather than the typical big announcement on April 6th, which will come, they are releasing the artist names one letter at a time - a la Wheel Of Fortune. Get in on the madness here, and you might want to grab those tickets soon; since the 3-day $190 discount tickets are only available while they last. After the advance, cheaper tickets sell out, the price will be $215 for the weekend. That looks pricey until you realize all you get to see.

So far, the site has given you an O and an R to work with. The good news is, based on the early buzz, Arcade Fire seem to be the fourth name on the top line. Also, site favs, Company Of Thieves seem to be on the seventh line from the bottom. The bad news? Well, Lady GaGa still fits in the third slot.

Sasquatch! Music Festival 2010 Lineup

The 2010 version of Sasquatch! Music Festival has announced most of the lineup for the Memorial Day weekend outing. The festival takes place May 29th - 31st at The Gorge in Quincy, Washington. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, February 20th, for the price of $70 per day, or a discount three-day pass price of $170.
There is not much here in the way of Chicago news, but it is worth watching the other festival lineups for hints of who may appear at Lollapalooza this year. We are crossing our fingers for My Morning Jacket, MGMT, Tegan And Sara, Broken Social Scene, Passion Pit, She & Him, The Hold Steady, The Long Winters, and Portugal. The Man to show up here in August. We are not in the business of reporting rumors here, but as for the internet buzz that Lady GaGa may headline one of the Lollapalooza nights, as long as they sign The Arcade Fire to headline one of them, Ms. Pokerface and Brittany Spears can headline the other two for all we care.
